Tribal Isles

Bringing out the Inner Islander!

Welcome to the Tribal Isles!

On first sight, there's a lot to do right here, and you are right! Don't worry, we'll navigate through the islands together! Let's head to Cape Clawed!

Cape Clawed

Ahh, Cape Clawed, the go-to place in the tribal isles for traps, cheese and general store equipment. However, we will not be doing much hunting here at the moment. First, head to the cheese shoppe. You'll notice that Gouda Cheese is now available to you, for 600 gold per piece. Gouda has a slightly higher attraction rate than brie, which will work great in the tribal isles. However, if gold becomes an issue for you, brie will suffice as well. It has to be noted that brie will attract the low-value sylvan mice too so keep that in mind.

Let's take a look at the trapsmith:

Tribal Base

175 power, 18% power bonus, 2% attraction bonus, 0 luck, fresh cheese effect

Cost: 499,600 gold / Point Requirement: 14,000,000 points

This base is quite costly, but it does provide the highest power bonus among the bases that you have access to. However, its complete lack of luck renders it less efficient than the aqua base for catching the standard tribal isles mice. If you can afford it, use it when going after the boss mice in the other areas; the power bonus will be much more useful then.

Moving on, you'll notice 3 other areas you'll have access to currently: Derr Dunes, Nerg Plains and Elub Shore. These are the 3 main tribes of the islands, named after the colours of the tribes: Derr (Red), Nerg (Green), and Elub (Blue). Each one of the these tribes are characterized by a special power type as well: Derr (Physical), Nerg (Tactical), Elub (Hydro). Also, the points and gold differ with the location you hunt in. The mice in Elub Shore tend to have high points but low gold returns; the mice from Derr provide a lot of gold but with little points; the mice from Nerg provides a balance of both. There are main goals to achieve in each location but let's take this one step at a time. It is your choice which location to proceed from here but I would recommend going to the Nerg Plains first due to the relative ease of catching the mice here compared to the other locations.

Nerg Plains

Tactical mice reside here in the luscious, green plains. At this point, your best tactical trap would be the ambush, It will suffice for now, don't worry, we're going to go for an upgrade soon enough! Set your ambush with your aqua base and arm some gouda cheese. The mice here drop savoury vegetables as loot, which can be used to craft Gumbo Cheese with the following recipe:

30 Savoury Vegetables + 15 Coconut Milk + 90 Curds and Whey + 1 Salt = 15 Gumbo Cheese

30 Savoury Vegetables + 15 Coconut Milk + 90 Curds and Whey + 1 Salt + 5 Magic Essence = 20 Gumbo Cheese

Once you've saved up 30 savoury vegetables, craft some gumbo, Either recipe will do. Once that's done, head to Cape Clawed. Keep your set-up but arm your gumbo, we are going for the Grandfather Mouse. The goal is to obtain the Thorned Vine from him. You should be able to get it easily.

Once you have the thorned vine, we'll upgrade our mutated venus mouse trap!

Purchase the Thorned Mouse Trap Plans from the Cape Clawed General Store for 550,000 gold. Smash your Mutated Venus Mouse Trap to obtain the venus mouse trap husk. Here's the crafting formula for our new trap:

1 Thorned Mouse Trap Plans + 1 Thorned Vine + 1 Venus Mouse Trap Husk = 1 Thorned Venus Mouse Trap

Thorned Venus Mouse Trap

3,400 power, 5% power bonus, 2% attraction bonus, 14 luck, very fresh cheese effect

Point Requirement: 3,200,000 points

This trap will be a good upgrade from the Ambush due to its higher power. While this trap seems good, you probably won't get to use it much at all; because we are going to upgrade it further into a more powerful tactical trap below!

Smash your newly crafted trap. Yes, smash it. Remember those radioactive sludge? We'll also need 20 of that. Craft the new trap using this formula:

1 Thorned Venus Mouse Trap Husk + 20 Radioactive Sludge = 1 Horrific Venus Mouse Trap

Horrific Venus Mouse Trap

3,400 power, 12% power bonus, 1% attraction bonus, 16 luck, no cheese effect

Point Requirement: 3,200,000 points

This trap is a complete upgrade over the Thorned Venus, boasting a 12% power bonus and a whopping 16 luck. The attraction is negligible. This trap will perform very well in the Nerg Plains and will be your main tactical trap of choice until you reach the title of Lord. For now, use this trap for all tactical mice.

Once you've gotten your horrific venus, return to Nerg Plains and hunt for more savoury vegetables. We're aiming for at least 120 savoury vegetables here. Craft your gumbo and we'll go for the Nerg leaders!

The Leaders of Nerg

Arm your Horrific Venus, Tribal Base (Aqua Base if you do not have the Tribal Base) and your gumbo cheese. You'll now only attract the 3 big mice of Nerg: Defender, Slayer and Nerg Chieftain. These mice also drop yellow pepper seeds. Save them for now, you'll need them later. Hunt away, you're looking to obtain the Ancient Ripped Blueprint from the Nerg Chieftain. Once you've gotten it, hold on to your remaining gumbo. Let's head to the Elub Shore!

Elub Shore

Hydro mice reside in the smooth, calm shores of this region of the isles. Hydro traps work best on the mice here. The trap set-up of choice here would be your net cannon along with your aqua base. Arm gouda. Hunt away, the mice here offer great points. Also, they drop seashells as loot. Again, we're looking to save up 30 seashells first. Here's the recipe for shell cheese:

30 Seashells + 10 Coconut Milk + 60 Curds and Whey + 40 Salt = 15 Shell Cheese

30 Seashells + 10 Coconut Milk + 60 Curds and Whey + 40 Salt + 5 Magic Essence = 20 Shell Cheese

Once you have your shell cheese, head over to Cape Clawed again. This time, we're aiming for the Elder mouse. Similar to the Grandfather mouse, you should be able to catch her with the amount of cheese you have. She'll drop the Ancient Spear. When that's done, head to the Cape Clawed General Store and purchase the Ancient Spear Launcher Blueprints for 160,000 gold. At the same time, go ahead and smash your net cannon/harpoon gun for the launcher parts. We're crafting our next hydro trap:

1 Ancient Spear Launcher Blueprints + 1 Ancient Spear + 1 Launcher Parts = 1 Ancient Spear Gun

Ancient Spear Gun

3,600 power, 5% power bonus, 10% attraction, 12 luck, fresh cheese effect

Point Requirement: 3,500,000 points

Finally, we now have that much needed luck for our hydro trap! This is quite a huge upgrade over the net cannon and harpoon gun, and will greatly improve the catch rate for the mice at Elub Shore. The increased power will also significantly aid in catching the big 3 of Elub. The attraction bonus is decent as well.

Head back to the Elub Shore and start stocking up on seashells. Again, we're looking to go for 120 seashells, which will give us approximately 60 pieces of shell cheese. Yes, it's quite a bit but I know you can do it! When you're ready, we'll take on Elub's big 3.

The Leaders of Elub

Arm your Ancient Spear Gun, Tribal Base (Aqua Base if you do not have the Tribal Base) and your shell cheese. You'll now only attract the 3 big mice of Elub: Protector, Champion and Elub Chieftain. These mice also drop blue pepper seeds. Save them for now, you'll need them later. Hunt away, you're looking to obtain the Ancient Frayed Blueprint from the Elub Chieftain. Once you've gotten it, hold on to your remaining shell. Let's head to the Derr Dunes!

Derr Dunes

Strong, tough, physical mice reside here in the dreaded Derr Dunes. "Physical, you say?!" Yes, at this point, I am aware of the fact that your best physical trap is probably going to be either the Swiss Army Mouse Trap or the NVMRC Forcefield. Unfortunately, both of these traps are not going to cut it here in the Derr Dunes. You can try it at your own risk, but you'll be in for a terrible time. The mice here are ruthless and extremely difficult to catch, even with a strong physical trap. Derr Dunes are almost infamous for red boxes, as you'll be pillaged, crippled and have your cheese stolen very often.

Back to the trap of choice, we're going to pay the Town of Digby a visit to obtain a new trap! Head to the Digby trapsmith and you'll find the Digby Drillbot:

Digby Drillbot

3,200 power, 18% power bonus, 0% attraction bonus, 5 luck, no cheese effect

Cost: 404,340 gold / Point Requirement: 409,500 points

This trap is a massive upgrade in terms of power over the NVMRC forcefield. The 18% power bonus will pair very nicely with the 18% power bonus of the tribal base, giving it a whopping total of 4,590 power! However, this trap does not have much luck to speak of. Also, you'll find that the drillbot is a tad expensive, but you'll be able to upgrade this trap into a behemoth of a trap in due time!

Head back to the Derr Dunes, arm your shiny, new digby drillbot and your aqua base, along with gouda, of course. Same thing again, you're aiming for 30 delicious stones. Be warned! The task of accumulating delicious stones won't be as easy as that in the Nerg Plains or in Elub Shore as the mice here are real tough. Hunt away, you'll notice that the catch rate isn't anything to brag about. Just keep plugging at it through the red boxes. You'll get there. Once you have 30 delicious stones, craft some crunchy cheese using the below recipe:

30 Delicious Stones + 20 Coconut Milk + 10 Curds and Whey + 30 Salt = 15 Crunchy Cheese

30 Delicious Stones + 20 Coconut Milk + 10 Curds and Whey + 30 Salt + 5 Magic Essence = 20 Crunchy Cheese

Head back to Cape Clawed when you have your crunchy cheese. You know the drill. This time, we're going after the Aged Mouse. Keep your set-up and arm your crunchy. He's slightly tougher than the Elder and Grandfather. If you don't manage to catch him, you'll have to head back to Derr and start again. I'll recommend spending just 5 magic essence for crafting crunchy here, just so that we can ensure an Aged catch. He drops the Rhino Horn. We're going to craft a new physical trap very soon but first, let us make some preparations.

First off, make sure you have 24 stale SB+ in your crafting items. "What's stale SB+?" Well, you get stale cheese from cheese going stale but you get stale SB+ from SB+ going stale. If you do not have enough stale SB+, I suggest making a 'staling run'. Head over to somewhere where SB+ doesn't attract mice (i.e. Forbidden Grove, Acolyte Realm). Arm SB+ along with your stalest set-up. (ACRONYM with Explosive Base works great here) You'll be staling SB+ quickly.

Next, make sure you have roughly a million gold. Why? Because we are going to buy the Rhinobot Blueprints from the Cape Clawed General Store. They go for 940,000 gold! Yes, start saving that gold. If you need a good place to farm, stick to brie/gouda at Nerg Plains; the gold here isn't a lot but it is steady. When you're ready, smash your digby drillbot. Go ahead and craft the Rhinobot using the formula:

1 Rhinobot Blueprints + 1 Digby Drillbot Parts + 1 Rhino Horn + 24 Stale SB+ = 1 Rhinobot

Rhinobot

4,950 power, 0% power bonus, 0% attraction bonus, 8 luck, very stale cheese effect

Point Requirement: 4,000,000 points

What a massive power increase! The Rhinobot outperforms any other pre-Lord physical trap due to its great base power. However, the Rhinobot is still lacking a lot in its luck rating and will have a hard time performing on par with other higher luck LE traps. Ultimately, you'll have to craft this trap to upgrade it into an even stronger trap below if you do not have one of those high luck physical traps.

Once that's done, head back to Derr to continue farming for delicious stones. You'll notice your catch rate, while not up to expectations, has increased significantly. Gather sufficient stones so that you have roughly 30 to 40 pieces of crunchy. We are returning to Cape Clawed to catch the Aged Mouse!

"Why are we catching the Aged Mouse again?" Well, we are going to craft an even more bad-ass trap and for this, we are going to need more Rhino Horns - 3 to be exact. Arm your rhinobot, aqua base and your crunchy cheese. Hunt for Aged mice. (Note: Not all of them will drop a Rhino Horn) If you did not succeed, head back to Derr and start over. Once you have your 3 Rhino Horns, we'll move on to gather more crafting supplies.

First up, we're going to need 48 stale SB+ now. Yes, 48. Same thing again, going for a staling run will significantly speed up this process. If you do not have sufficient SB+, you may buy some through the marketplace using gold. Next, head to the Training Grounds General Store and purchase 6 Tiny Platinum Bars. They go for 60,000 gold each. Yes, crafting all these traps cost quite a bit! Lastly, check that you have at least 13,000,000 points. If not, head to Elub and rack them up!

Once you're done, awesome! Smash your Rhinobot. Craft your new trap using this formula:

1 Rhinobot Parts + 3 Rhino Horns + 6 Tiny Platinum Bars + 48 Stale SB+ = 1 Enraged Rhinobot

Enraged Rhinobot

5,900 power, 10% power bonus, 0% attraction bonus, 20 luck, insanely stale cheese effect

Point Requirement: 13,000,000 points

This trap is a beast at this level. With tonnes of base power, good power bonus and 20 luck, this trap will greatly improve the catch rate in Derr and is also a necessity for hunting in the Sandtail Desert region later on. You may be able to skip this trap if you have a strong LE physical trap but as mice become increasingly more difficult to catch, power rating matters more than luck.

Head back to Derr and farm for more delicious stones. Again, 120 is the goal here, if possible. Ready? Great. Let's go for the big 3 in Derr!

The Leaders of Derr

Arm your Enraged Rhinobot, Tribal Base (Aqua Base if you do not have the Tribal Base) and your crunchy cheese. You'll now only attract the 3 big mice of Derr: Guardian, Gladiator and Derr Chieftain. These mice also drop red pepper seeds. Save them for now, you'll need them later. Hunt away, you're looking to obtain the Ancient Mangled Blueprint from the Derr Chieftain. Once you've gotten it, congratulations! You've successfully conquered the 3 tribes of the isles! This will complete "Defeat The Tribe Chieftains" in the adventure book.

So... what now? Well, there are 2 things you can do. You may continue to farm pepper seeds using your remaining gumbo, shell and crunchy cheese until you hit the rank of Hero (if you aren't already, at this point in time). Alternatively, with the current strongest physical trap in your arsenal right now, you may choose to revisit the Town of Digby (See Digby Revisited) to catch the Digby Dirt Dweller mice.

When you have reached the title of Hero and are ready, let's move on to the Jungle of Dread!
