Lagoon

Fishing Time!

What a beautiful lagoon! Only mysterious mice could reside in such a magical place that is the Lagoon!

While it looks great, the Lagoon, in my honest opinion, is one of the worst places to hunt in, simply because not only are the mice tough, they come in different power types as well, making every set-up a pain, regardless of the set-up. My suggestion would be to go in, get what you need, and then get out of the Lagoon. Trust me on this.

Our goals here are four-fold:

1) Collect Gnarled Potions from Great Gnarled Tree.
2) Catch a Hydra Mouse that drops the Ship Blueprints.
3) Collect Wicked Gnarly Potions from Curious Chemist Mouse in the Great Gnarled Tree.
4) Catch a Silth Mouse.

Okay, to be realistic, goal #2 is the only necessary task whereas #3 and #4 are optional. Let's focus on that for now. If you aren't sure about #1 on how to collect gnarled potions or obtain gnarled cheese, take a quick look at the Great Gnarled Tree page. Roughly 30-35 gnarled potions are required. That aside, you should also have the ambush trap along with the dehydration base/fan base. This set-up should suffice for now.

Catching the Hydra

Use some of your gnarled potions to convert your brie cheese into gnarled cheese. Arm your gnarled cheese and sound the horn. Be patient. You'll catch a hydra sooner or later. Hopefully it drops the Ship Blueprints. The hydra also drops a bunch of other loot: some are required for crafting the ship while loot such as the scrap metal will help greatly in your time at the Catacombs later. The hydra should be relatively okay to catch, you may miss him every now and then with your set-up, but since the tweaks made by the developers, the hydra is now much easier to catch than before.

With the looted ship blueprints, you are now able to craft the S.S Huntington III, which will give you access to the Rodentia Ocean! However, that region is only available to Legendary hunters and above. Moreover, the crafting supplies will cost roughly 615,000 gold. What?! Yes, it's THAT expensive. Seems like more Mousoleum time... Don't worry, for now, hold on to those blueprints and we'll uncover a new farming zone in just a jiffy!

At this point, if you aren't Legendary already, you can head to the Laboratory to farm more radioactive blue cheese potions. You'll need them, lots of them. Otherwise, you can continue on to the Catacombs!

Catching the Silth

The Silth is quite the tough mouse to catch. This is largely due to the fact that it can only be attracted to wicked gnarly cheese but yet, many other Lagoon mice are attracted to wicked gnarly cheese as well. Even if you manage to attract it, the Silth is still considerably strong.

Let's talk cheese for a moment. Remember those Curious Chemist mice that drop Wicked Gnarly Potions? Now is the time to use them! Make some wicked gnarly cheese using the potions and arm your bait.

For your weapon, you're looking to arm your strongest (luckiest) set-up. Also, your trap has to be a tactical or a hydro type one. If you are hunting the Silth as a Grandmaster at this point, I'd assume that your strongest tactical trap is the Ambush. Otherwise, you should use a stronger tactical trap such as the Thorned or Horrific Venus Mouse Trap. While a hydro trap has a distinct advantage over tactical traps in snagging the Silth, almost no other mice (besides the Hydra) is weak to hydro weapons, making your time in the Lagoon a living nightmare.

Other than that, there's nothing else to say other than to wait for the Silth. you may miss a couple before finally catching one. But when you do, congratulations! The Silth commonly drops satchels of gold too!

Clearing the rest of the Forest Guild

While most of the Forest Guild mice can be caught with tactical weapons, some of the mice are more easily caught with other power types. It's a good idea to use traps of these power types when hunting specifically for these mice (at the expense of getting a worse catch rate for the other Lagoon mice you encounter). Here's a quick list:

Hydro (Recommended Trap: Ancient Spear Gun/Horrific Venus Mouse Trap)

Hydra
Silth

Shadow (Recommended Trap: Gorgon Trap, Clockapult of Time)

Goblin
Harpy
Troll
