Meditation Room & Pinnacle Chamber

Facing the Masters

Okay, fellow Mousehunters! This is where things get a little tough and tricky. Allow me to explain these two locations:

The Meditation Room and Pinnacle Chamber are both located within the furoma pagoda. Hapless mice can be attracted with standard cheese in these two areas. In fact, they're the only mice you can attract with using standard cheese here. You need special cheese to attract the Masters hidden within the pagoda. Here's a simple breakdown of which cheese attracts which master:

Meditation Room

Standard Cheese: Hapless (May drop Ambush Trap Blueprints)

Susheese: Master of the Cheese Claw
Combat: Master of the Cheese Fang
Glutter: Master of the Cheese Belt

Pinnacle Chamber

Standard Cheese: Hapless (May drop Ambush Trap Blueprints)

Rumble: Master of the Dojo
Onyx Gorgonzola: Dojo Sensei

Let's take this step by step!

Meditation Room

Your goal, for now, is to catch one of each master. This should be your setup:

Weapon: Mutated Venus Mouse Trap
Base: Dehydration Base/Fan Base
Cheese: Susheese/Glutter/Combat

Based on Mousehunt analytics, it is marginally better to use the dehydration base if you have the Lucky Golden Shield (given to players for a time period when they donate) and in the absence of the shield, the fan base. My take is that it doesn't matter so much which base you choose to use at this point in time, simply because marginal differences in catch rates only matter with large sample sizes (meaning: if you are using A LOT of cheese). Otherwise, it's not all that important now.

Okay, arm your cheese (doesn't matter which you start with) and sound the horn! Yes, the Masters are tough. It's roughly a 35% catch rate with this set-up if you have the lucky golden shield. In other words, hang in there! Keep plugging away! Once you've gotten your first master, immediately change your cheese and start hunting for the next master. You do not want to waste precious master cheese hunting with a mediocre trap! You should be able to catch at least one of each master with 15 pieces of cheese each (unless you've been hit by bad RNG). If you fail to do so, yes, you will have to start over by collecting tokens again from the students.

The Masters all drop Master Shards, which is an important crafting material. When you have caught one of each master, thereby obtaining one of each shard, you'll need to craft them together to form a Master's Seal:

1 Master Claw Shard + 1 Master Belt Shard + 1 Master Fang Shard = Master's Seal

Okay, what's next?

If you haven't gotten your Ambush Trap Blueprints from the Assassin or Worker Mice in the Dojo yet, continue to stay in the Meditation Room but switch to brie cheese. You'll catch hapless mice. One of them is bound to drop the blueprints. When you have that and the Master's Seal, you're all set to craft your new tactical trap!

Crafting the Ambush Trap

Okay, listen up! To craft the Ambush Trap, you're going to need a few crafting supplies: Get 5 pieces of splintered wood and 3 pieces of rice paper from the Training Grounds General Store and then get 8 droid parts from the Bazaar General Store. Go for it, I'll wait.

Done? Fantastic. Here's the recipe to craft the Ambush Trap:

  • 1 Ambush Trap Blueprints
  • 8 Droid Parts
  • 1 Master's Seal
  • 5 Splintered Wood
  • 3 Rice Paper
And.... there you have it!

Ambush Trap

3,000 power, 5% power bonus, 0% attraction, 12 luck, fresh cheese effect

Point Requirement: 950,000 points

A bad-ass looking trap that has droids waiting to 'ambush' the unwary mouse! This trap may not have outstanding stats but it is certainly one of the best traps you will have in your arsenal right now! It's also the luckiest trap you have right now so that will help in farming more radioactive cheese potions later on! For now, this is the only trap you'll use for tactical mice.

Return to the Meditation Room. Hunt using the remainder of your master cheese. Our goal (to be safe) is to collect at least 5 of each master's shard. If you don't have sufficient cheese to obtain this, then return to the Dojo, collect more tokens and craft more master cheese. Go, I'll wait for you.

You're back? Great! Now, our next step is to craft Rumble Cheese. Here's the formula:

20 Curds and Whey + 1 Master Claw Shard + 1 Master Fang Shard + 1 Master Belt Shard + 1 Ionized Salt = 3 Rumble Cheese

Wait, what if I'd craft my shards into Master's Seals? Not to worry! Just use THIS formula:

20 Curds and Whey + 1 Master's Seal+ 1 Ionized Salt = 3 Rumble Cheese

You should have 15 pieces of Rumble. Ready? Let's do this!

Pinnacle Chamber

Let's Rumble! The Master of the Dojo is our goal here! Head to the Pinnacle Chamber and arm your rumble cheese. Your set-up, again, should be Ambush with Dehydration Base/Fan Base. Now, sound the horn. And wait. Yes, he's a really difficult one to catch! You'll also get pillaged or crippled every time you miss him.

However, when you finally do catch him, you get a HUGE reward of 27,300 gold! He'll also drop an Onyx Stone. Congratulations! You have conquered the Furoma Region! Or so you thought. Within the Pinnacle Chamber lurks a mouse so strong that it makes even the Master of the Dojo seem easy. He's the Dojo Sensei!

Note: You may or may not choose to go for the Dojo Sensei at this point. Be warned, the Dojo Sensei is an extremely tough mouse to catch, even with the highest level of tactical traps way above the Ambush in power. Should you choose to go after it now, be prepared to not be able to catch a single Dojo Sensei at all. My recommendation is to skip him first and come back later when you have a much stronger tactical trap in your arsenal.

For now, bask in the glory of catching a Master of the Dojo! You'll have completed the "Capture the Master of the Dojo" in your adventure book. The onyx stone that he dropped? Keep it, you'll need it in just a short while. If you have rumble cheese remaining, you should keep it for future use.

If you're going to try for the Dojo Sensei now, you'll need the rumble cheese to catch more Master of the Dojo for more onyx stones. Continue down for instructions on facing the Dojo Sensei. Otherwise, it's time to pay the Whisker Woods yet another visit! To the Lagoon!

The Master of All: Catching the Dojo Sensei

Warning: If you do not have a tactical trap that is the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap or better, I will advise you against catching the Dojo Sensei now.

First up, you are going to want to have a good supply of Onyx Gorgonzola cheese. How do we get that? Remember those onyx stones? You should have a good supply of them. Here's the crafting formula:

1 Onyx Stone + 6 Ionized Salt + 60 Curds and Whey = 3 Onyx Gorgonzola Cheese

Alternatively, you may craft an unstable curd with the following formula:

1 Onyx Stone + 1 Ionized Salt + 1 Curds and Whey = 1 Unstable Curd

What does the unstable curd do? Well, under the special tab of the Inventory, you have the option to 'poke' the curd. This will provide you with a variety of cheese on each poke. The kind of cheese you get is random but there is quite a high chance of obtaining Onyx Gorgonzola from the curd. For large numbers of onyx stones, crafting unstable curds and poking them will always give significantly more Onyx Gorgonzola cheese than crafting the cheese directly.

Once you have your stash of Onyx Gorgonzola cheese, arm it along with your strongest tactical set-up (again, Horrific Venus or better) and wait. Don't expect it to be easy. Even with the Sphynx Wrath, the catch rate for the Dojo Sensei is about 20%.

The Dojo Sensei may drop the Onyx Mallet Blueprints as well as a bunch of other loot. He even drops the onyx stone occasionally, allowing you to 'cycle' and craft more Onyx Gorgonzola. This is the basic concept surrounding the "Furoma Cycle" (or Furoma Run/Mojo Run/Sojo Run), which earns heaps of profits for hunters in the late-game looking to farm gold. This will be explained below.

Furoma Cycle

Work-In-Progress.
