Ahhh! It's the dreaded Mousoleum! Frightening as the location may seem, its catching the mice that's really the frightening part, and you'll see why in just a while!
First of all, you're going to need to convert some brie into RB cheese (if you haven't already done so). Only RB cheese works here, no other cheese will be effective (with the exceptions of Moon and Undead Emmental).
Next, your trap set-up should be your sinister portal with your dehydration base. Check? Good. With that, go ahead and sound the horn! The mice here are from the "Shadow Clan" group and have a general weakness towards shadow traps. That being said, it has to be noted that these mice are still rather tough to catch despite using a trap of the correct power type. This is partly due to the fact that shadow traps, in general, have low power and scale rather slowly. The other part of it, well, is that the Mousoleum is meant to be the first 'difficult' location you'll encounter.
There will be more of such locations to come, and its a good idea to get used to red boxes (pillages, points loss, cheese stolen) here. The mice here are not only tough, they tend to give you red boxes very often! With your current set-up, I'd say you'd have about a 50% overall catch rate. Good news is that with the increased difficulty, the mice here provide much reward as well. Some of the mice such as the Ravenous Zombie and the Lycan are worth 5,000 over gold per catch! The gold you'll get will offset all your losses and its strange to say this, but the Mousoleum is really one of the best gold farming areas you'll have access to for a while!
Now, let's get to our main task:
We need to catch a Lycan Mouse that drops the Shredded Furoma Map Piece.
The Lycan is a tough mouse to catch, but with all other map retrieval tasks, it is really all about patience. Yes, the pillaging will be frustrating and seeing several red boxes consecutively doesn't help with things. Take it easy, relax, go for a walk! There are other things to enjoy in life besides Mousehunt. Come back when you feel invigorated, perhaps you may even return to see a Lycan caught during a trap check!
Once that's done, you'll complete "Survive the Mousoleum" in the adventure book. Also, you'll have access to the Training Grounds in the Furoma region once you hit the title of Grandmaster! Claim your reward and continue farming more gold!
Note: You may notice that when radioactive blue cheese stales, instead of stale cheese, you receive radioactive sludge. Those will be useful in helping us craft a new trap! Don't worry about your radioactive blue cheese going stale, there are many future purposes of radioactive sludge. Once you feel like you're ready to move on, let's visit the Great Gnarled Tree!
